Frequently Asked Questions
No they are not!
Are soaps safe to use on the skin?
The soaps are safe to use on the skin, however we do advise that if you have extremely sensitive skin to avoid soaps with fragrance in them. If you are unsure please contact us for advice or refer to the sensitive skin section for more information
That all depends on how sensitive and what you are sensitive too!
We have a fragrance free range of soaps just for the sensitive skin person, and we have many customers that have sensitive skin using the whole range of soaps but can’t use the bubble bath products. So it’s a trial and error thing if you do have sensitive skin, So we recommend that you do a spot test with any product you plan to use on your skin. If you need further assistance please contact us
The colours used in these products are skin safe colours and are designed to enhance the products, we have variations in colours due to the nature of measurement and this is done by eye. We also don’t want the colours too heavy that you and/or the tub change colour and stain.
Colours will fade over time due to many factors including exposure to light. Sometimes the products start to discolour due to the vanillin content of the fragrance oils even though stabilisers are used eventually the vanillin will discolour the products this is just the way it is.
We advise keeping your soap and bath products in a cool dry place out of the light to keep them looking nice.
All our products are hand crafted to the highest standard by the one and only Meg of megs soap boudoir, this means that each and every batch will slightly differ – whether its colour, scent, shape, pattern(swirls in the soap), toppings etc. However the products will be as described and 100% perfect every time.
There is no reason why the bubble bath product won’t work for you, unless you didn’t follow the instructions to the letter. Hard water may slightly impede bubble formation, but just add a little more product and make sure there is good agitation or water pressure.
Poor water pressure may impede bubble formation and you need to agitate the water.
These products are AWESOME in spa tubs!!!
There is a 3 -5 day processing time for all orders.
All the ingredients used to make our yummy fun & exciting soap bath & body products are the highest quality and are all skin safe.
Citric Acid: Sounds scary but it’s not. Citric Acid is an ingredient a lot of people have in their own pantry at home. It’s a weak acid present in many fruits and vegetables. While it’s perfectly safe, it can cause cuts and grazes to sting so please avoid handling bath bombs while in the tub if you or your kids have any cuts on your hands.
Bubbles & Foam: we use a variety of ingredients to produce and sustain bubbles and foam in the bubble bath products. One of these is Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate or SLSa. Don’t confuse this with SLS. They are totally different. SLS is a chemical detergent found in many health and beauty products because it’s relatively cheap when compared to the alternatives. It’s quite harsh and as such is a fairly controversial ingredient in bath products.
SLSa on the other hand is a mild surfactant that’s plant derived. It’s a fantastic bubble producer and is much less likely to cause irritation. Obviously we have used SLSa in the products along with other mild bubbling agents to create awesome bubbling fun.
As required we list all of the ingredients at the point of sale, this is important to ensure that you know what is in the products, please take the time to read all the information carefully, especially when purchasing for people with skin sensitivities and allergies. Our products are produced in areas & on equipment that come into contact with nuts & nut oils and other possible allergens. Please keep this in mind when purchasing as returns, refunds & credits are not given on change of mind or mistake purchases.
We have had no issues with staining as we only use enough to colour the product and we don’t use dyes. However due to the products having oils & butters in them they may leave a ring around the tub which is made very obvious with the colours from the products.  We recommend to gently wipe this ring away with a soapy cloth to avoid build up on the tub of both product oil, body oils, dirt & debris. I shouldn’t need to give you a lesson about house keeping standards!
